TCS to recruit 5,000 more in Chennai

TATA Consultancy Services (TCS) will add around 5,000 employees in Chennai during the current fiscal.

The company plans to recruit around 13,500 for its entire operations during the year, according to Mr Ravi Viswanathan, Vice-President, Chennai Operations, TCS.

Mr Viswanathan, who took over as head of the company's city operations eight months ago, said that TCS Chennai is the flagship centre for the company, and is the largest delivery organisation within TCS.

The city accounts for 35 per cent of the company's revenue, which was Rs 9,272 crore in 2004-05, he told newspersons.

TCS Chennai has eight centres in and around the city.
