AIMS convention from Aug 28

THE Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) comprising about 400 B-Schools is set to host its 17th Annual Convention in Hyderabad focussing on `Management 2025- New Paradigms for India's Competitiveness.'

AIMS is a national network of Management Schools in India.

It has around 400 Management Schools as its members including IIMs, XLRI, ICFAI etc.

It represents the Indian Management Schools in various international fora and officially represent in different bodies of Government of India connected with Management Education.

The event will be held at Hotel Viceroy in Hyderabad from August 28 to 30.

The President of AIMS and Vice-Chancellor of ICFAI University, Dr V. Panduranga Rao, said "the greatest challenge facing India now is to achieve global competitiveness in the areas of agriculture, manufacturing, services, infrastructure, environment, social sectors and natural resources."

Addressing a press conference here today, Dr Rao said, "Research papers were invited for the convention. Based on the papers received, the thrust of the convention will be on services, environment, manufacturing, agricultural and social sectors.

"If India's competitiveness has to be taken forward, this Convention is a step in that direction."

The AIMS expects deliberations to result in some policy directions, which may be useful to Government and industry.

"We hope that the Convention outcome will provide insights to business and industry galvanising them into action facilitating the process of India becoming a leading economic power," Dr Rao said.

Prof Jagdish N. Sheth, Mr Charles H. Kellstadt Prof of Marketing, Goizueta Business School, Emory University, USA, will deliver the Inaugural keynote address of the convention.

Other speakers include Mr Pradip Baijal, Chairman, TRAI, Ms Ranjana Kumar, Chairperson, Nabard, Dr Dan LeClair, Vice-President, AACSB International, Florida, Prof M.R. Rao, Dean, ISB, among host of others.
