ADB aid for Uttaranchal

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will help the Government of Uttaranchal prepare a plan to improve the State's road network with a technical assistance grant of $3,98,000.

According to a press release issued by ADB, the grant is intended to assist the Public Works Department (PWD) of Uttaranchal review and finalise a 10-year master plan for roads in the State and complete financing plans for projects of various durations.

The technical assistance grant will also help prepare a plan to boost the Uttaranchal PWD's capacity. The grant will also help prepare a project to strengthen rural-urban connections and link poor rural producers with markets in towns and cities, and ports, the release added.
