New Delhi , Aug. 19

ALLIANCE Air, the 100 per cent subsidiary of Indian Airlines, has lost an estimated Rs 80 lakh during the last six months due to the cancellation of flights caused by the shortage of operating crew, the Minister for Civil Aviation, Mr Praful Patel, told Parliament on Thursday.

"Curtailment and adjustments have been made in the schedule of Alliance Air to maintain regularity of services within the resources available," Mr Patel said.

The airline has been experiencing a shortage of operating crew since January this year, Mr Patel said. The Minister added that neither Air India nor Indian Airlines has cancelled flights due to the non-availability of pilots.
