Task force's report soon on affordable life-saving drugs

THE task force, which is looking at options other than price control for increasing affordability of life saving drugs, is likely to submit its report shortly.

Responding to a calling attention motion in Rajya Sabha, the Chemicals and Fertiliser Minister, Mr Ram Vilas Paswan, said an interim report on the span of price control, including trade margin, to suggest measures to ensure availability of life saving drugs at reasonable prices has already submitted.

He also reiterated that the prices of essential medicines have not gone up in the post-patent era.
