People Ericsson appoints new India head Our Bureau
New Delhi , Aug. 11 ERICSSON announced on Thursday the appointment of Mr Mats Granryd as the Head of Market Unit India & Sri Lanka and Managing Director of Ericsson India Pvt Ltd. Mr Mats Granryd has replaced Mr Jan Campbell who will now be responsible for the company's Central European operations. "By bringing exceptional industry leadership, and experience in the telecom industry, Mr Mats Granryd will be leading Ericsson's efforts to provide mobile and broadband Internet communications to the growing Indian telecom market," said a press release. As the overall head for the company's operations in India and Sri Lanka, Mr Granryd will be responsible for supporting operators in the region. Mr Granryd was the President of the Ericsson Mobile Systems CDMA Business Unit in San Diego, the US. Commenting on his appointment, Mr Carl-Henric Svanberg, President & CEO of Ericsson Worldwide operations, said, "Ericsson continues to command leadership in this dynamic market. Mats Granryd brings a wealth of commercial and management experience that has already added value to our operations. "His appointment further reinforces our focus to the growing markets in the region and I am confident that Ericsson will gain from his vast experience and expertise in the telecom industry."
