New Delhi , Aug. 6

THE Union Civil Aviation Minister, Mr Praful Patel, announced on Saturday that all the necessary repairs to the Air India fleet would be done abroad until normalcy is restored in the airline's engineering services base in Mumbai.

This follows a review of the severely affected engineering services of Air India in Mumbai. Life in the metropolis had come to a grinding halt due to incessant rains. The Mumbai Airport was waterlogged and had to be shutdown for sometime, affecting normal operations.
