Visakhapatnam , Aug. 5

VAIBHAV Empire Pvt Ltd, a private jeweller here, launched a campaign - bangle mela - here on Friday to boost its sales during the month of Sravana. Mr R. Appa Rao, Deputy Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, inaugurated the campaign.

On the occasion, Mr Manoj, Managing Director, said Vaibhav's turnover amounted to Rs 70 crore during 2004-2005 and during the current financial year the aim was to touch the Rs 100-crore mark.

He said that it was customary for the company to carry out three campaigns every year - one during the month of Sravana, the second one during Dasara festival and the last during Sankranti - to boost its sales.

"The response to our campaigns has always been encouraging. During the present campaign, from August 5 to August 25, the making charges on bangles will be waived and there will be only three per cent wastage," he explained. The bangles would be available in as many as 10,000 designs.

Mr Manoj said Vaibhav was working on a project to expand the present showroom here - the only one - into one of the largest in the country. "We have to work out the project cost yet. It will be some kind of a huge wedding mall where all the requirements for a marriage - sarees, jewellery and everything else including the priest - can be obtained," he said.
