MR Hari Easwaran, Chairman, Easun Reyrolle, told a press conference here today that the company's acquisition of the switchgear business of Easwaran and Sons Engineers Ltd in January, for a consideration of Rs 5 crore, has brought in rich orders.

Order intake increased 85 per cent to Rs 26.84 crore in the first quarter of the current year. The company expects about Rs 10 crore of sales to come from the switchgear business. Sensing demand for switchgear products, Easun Reyrolle plans to invest around Rs 7 crore in expansion of the switchgear division's facilities. "The acquisition is getting grafted well with the existing businesses," Mr Easwaran said.

Easun Reyrolle is a joint venture of Chennai-based Easun Group and Reyrolle Protection Ltd, UK. It manufactures power transmission and distribution products that protect the T&D system from damage in the event of a power trip. Mr J.D.N. Sharma, Chief Executive of the company, said the power sector was looking up and the company was set to grow in tandem.
