Wheelchair for paraplegics

HYDERABAD: Sayani Surgicals, is introducing a stair- climbing wheelchair and a walk-about device for paraplegics, imported from Australia, for the first time in the domestic market.

The Hyderabad-based company, which specialises in equipment for the physically challenged, has opened an exclusive showroom of about 2000 sq ft, displaying a range of about 300 products.

Dr M.Y. Sayani, a physiotherapist and main promoter, said with the growth of high-rise buildings, both commercial and residential, the stair-climbing wheelchair was a big necessity. Similarly, a wide range of orthopaedic appliances, artificial limbs, hospital furniture and surgical goods, are being made available at affordable prices to the people, he said.
