EIH Q1 net at Rs 6.55 cr

EIH Ltd has recorded a profit after current tax for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 at Rs 6.55 crore (against a loss of Rs 3.82 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal).

The PBT for the period under review is placed at Rs 12.33 crore. Total income for the said quarter was Rs 155.67 crore (Rs 121.58 crore), registering an increase of 28 per cent. Operating profit, before interest and depreciation, has jumped by over 83 per cent at Rs 42.81 crore (Rs 23.34 crore), according to an official release issued by the company here today.

The EPS works out to Rs 3.26 as against a negative EPS of Rs 1.24 for the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal. The company had an EPS of Rs 5.58 for the year ended March 31, 2005. The capital employed for the quarter on hotels is put at Rs 1,537.46 crore (Rs 1,502.24 crore). Paid-up equity is placed at Rs 52.39 crore, with reserves (excluding revaluation reserves) as on March 31, 2005 at Rs 615.45 crore.
