RBI issues

This has reference to the editorial "Reclusive RBI" (Business Line, July 27), which points out that the Reserve Bank of India has done the wise thing by not disturbing the rhythm. At the same time, the RBI has to be watchful also.

But is not raising risk weights for banks on loans for real estate and capital markets from 100 to 125 per cent contrary to the policy of giving more autonomy to banks?
