Special counter for income-tax assessees

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Income-Tax Department, Salary Range, Thiruvananthapuram will open special counters at Ayakar Bhavan, Kowdiar to help assessees file their returns before the due date.

An official spokesman said that the counters would be open from Wednesday till Monday (Saturday and Sunday included) and would function from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all days. Returns relating to salaried assesses will be entertained only at the special counter during these days. The spokesman requested the assessees to make use of this facility and file returns before the due date.

Salaried assessees claiming refund have been directed to furnish the nine-digit MICR code or photocopy of their cheque for faster refunds.
