Panel to study Somasila project

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has directed officials to constitute a three-member committee comprising the Joint Collectors of Kurnool, Nellore and Anantapur to take up a detailed study on issues related to submergence, compensation and other related aspects with regard to the Somasila project.

At a review meeting here on Tuesday, he said the committee should come out with a report in 15 days.

He also directed the officials to depute an official for speedy land acquisition. A total of 105 villages were under submersion area (21,659 acres).
