Letters Veto power
The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, and his team must be congratulated for their farsightedness in inking the Indo-US agreement on nuclear technology. Rather than creating a hue and cry over whether India should be given veto power in the United Nations Security Council, the Indian leadership has wisely decided to push ahead in other areas of collaboration. The Opposition needs to recognise this and look at the long-term benefits of such a deal. Sushil Mehra Bangalore
