COIMBATORE: National Textile Corporation Ltd (NTC) in Tamil Nadu has entered into an agreement with its workmen's unions on payment of interim wages for its workers employed in eight textile units in the State.

As per the agreement reached here on Thursday, NTC will pay an interim relief of Rs 260 per month pending final settlement of the wages dispute by the special industrial tribunal constituted by the Tamil Nadu Government.

The payment which will be effective May 1, 2005 would be applicable to all the permanent and `badli' workers and those covered under the occupational wages. The accord will benefit 3714 workers employed by the corporation.
