Meet on tuber crops

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A two-day national seminar on `Achievement and opportunities in post-harvest management and value addition in root and tuber crops' got under way at the Centre for Tuber Crops Research Institute (CTCRI).

Dr Gautam Kalloo, Deputy Director-General (Horticulture and Cooperative Science) at Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), inaugurated the session. He emphasised the need for real assessment of post-harvest losses in tuber crops and strategies to combat such losses.

Mr Mathew C. Kunnumkal, Agriculture Production Commissioner, Kerala, presided over the function. Dr S. Edison, Director, CTCRI, welcomed the delegates.
