Mumbai , July 15

DWARIKESH Sugar Industries Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 7.24 crore for the third quarter ended June 30 2005.

For the nine months ended June 30, net profit was higher by 157 per cent at Rs 24.52 crore (Rs 9.56 crore).

Higher price realisation has resulted in a significant jump in the profit for the nine-month period. Mr G.R. Morarka, Chairman and Managing Director, said: "It is a result of our efforts to consistently build on the efficiency achieved at all levels of production."

The company has achieved an optimum crushing capacity, power cogeneration of 17 MW, and successful commissioning of a 30 klpd distillery plant in February. Good progress has been made on the new project, which is expected to be commissioned by November.
