WTO Kamal Nath to attend WTO mini ministerial in China Our Bureau
New Delhi , July 10 THE Commerce and Industry Minister, Mr Kamal Nath, will take part in the two-day mini-ministerial in China at Dalian on July 12, where trade ministers from 30 member countries of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) are likely to participate. The meeting, convened by China, will have trade ministers from Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Kenya, South Africa, the US and the European Union, an official release here said. The ongoing WTO negotiations of the Doha Round have entered into a crucial phase in the light of the main Ministerial meeting of the WTO to be held in Hong Kong in December this year. The Doha Ministerial Declaration along with the "July Framework" decision (of 2004) provides the elements and principles to guide the ongoing WTO trade talks. India's negotiating objectives and the strategies to achieve them have been developed based on detailed analytical work and intensive consultations, which are still under way with vital stakeholders in the country.
