Saving fuel

Thailand is deploying effective measures to save energy. One suggestion for all Asian countries could be that motorists should turn off their engines at any traffic signal that requires them to stop for 30 seconds or longer.

The resultant energy saved will become apparent in no time, and could be as high as 10 per cent.

Moreover, switching off the ignition at traffic lights would cause no inconvenience to the motorist at all.

Apart from saving on fuel, it will also reduce air pollution.

This is the standard policy in some European countries where it has proved to be an amazing energy-saving method.
