Events SPG India plans outsourcing meet in Amsterdam Our Bureau
Hyderabad , July 7 SPG India, an arm of the UK-based SPG Media, plans to organise an international outsourcing forum targeting the participation of Indian companies, in Amsterdam in March 2006. The forum would bring together global companies that look to outsource work to low-cost locations and ITES and BPO companies, especially from the Asian region where India is a dominant player. Speaking to newspersons on Thursday, Mr Chris Hayward, Managing Director (Events Division) of SPG Media group, said that the forum would ensure exclusive and limited one-to-one meetings between buyers and suppliers of services. Mr Vijay Chintamaneni, Director of SPG Media, said that the Indian arm would increase its headcount from 125 to 600 in the next two years. Besides replicating group activity in India, the company runs a business intelligence unit. The company also plans to organise Packaging and Conversion Europe (PACE) Forum, targeting Asian suppliers and European buyers. It would be held in Rome in February next. "These forums attract decision-makers from the buyers' side." They also help cut time and effort for both buyers and sellers. The company organised EOFI (European Outsourcing Forum India) in Dubai last month, which attracted 45 European companies in the fields of banking, insurance, retail, supply chain management, and telecom.
