Bangalore , June 23

IN a bid to expand its market reach in India, especially in the Tier II and Tier III cities, Sun Microsystems has tied up with IT distribution firm, eSys Technologies.

The Indian arm of eSys, which is among the top three IT distribution firms, would be providing Sun solutions for the enterprise customers through its partners in the Tier II and III cities.

Sun Microsystems India expects an additional growth of 4-5 per cent through this tie-up in the first year, and the company is gearing up for the next phase of growth, said its Managing Director, Mr Bhaskar Pramanik, here on Thursday.

India has been one of the fastest growing markets for Sun, worldwide, where the company has been growing at around 35 per cent annually.

Telecom, banking financial services and insurance, and manufacturing are the key verticals, where Sun has been witnessing good growth over the last few years.

As the company's designated channel development partner in India, eSys, with over 2,700 reseller customers, would establish key enterprise distribution teams to focus on the major growth industries areas such as education and research, government and manufacturing, in addition to the small and medium businesses, said Mr Vikas Goel, founder and CEO of eSys Technologies Group.

With a proactive and a dynamic distribution platform, combined with flexible and responsive business processes, eSys will enable Sun's strategy of expanding into newer geographies across the country, he added.
