Off-shore Development Infinite sets up Malaysian arm Our Bureau
Bangalore , June 22 SOFTWARE services firm Infinite Computer Solutions, said on Wednesday that it has set up a wholly owned subsidiary in Malaysia to tap the Asia-Pacific market and augment its offshore capabilities in the region. Mr Upinder Zutshi, CEO, operations for Asia-Pacific and Europe, said the company had applied for `Multimedia Super Corridor' status and planned to set up office in Cyberjaya, Kuala Lumpur. Infinite plans to invest $2-$5 million over two years in the Malaysian facility that would have a headcount of some 280 people by the year-end. Mr Zutshi said the company planned to double its global headcount to 5,000 by the year-end. At present, it has close to 3,000 people, bulk of them in India and the US. It has three development centres in the US and one in India. The company is also looking at setting up development centres in China and Romania, he said. Infinite which counts Verizon, IBM, Pitney Bowes among its major clientele clocked in revenue worth $85 million for the 2004-05 period, a growth of 20 per cent over the previous year's $70.5 million. Infinite plans to pursue a combination of organic and inorganic growth strategy, he said and the company was on the lookout for acquisitions in China, Asia Pacific, India and the US.
