Toyota Kirloskar doubles higher-end Innova production

Bangalore , June 22

TOYOTA Kirloskar Motor has doubled the production of the higher-end models of its crossover vehicle, Innova.

The company's Director for marketing, Mr T. Ino, said that earlier the higher-end models of Innova constituted 35 per cent of the total production of Innova. It has now been doubled to around 70 per cent, he said.

"We are seeing higher sale of the top-end models of Innova," Mr Ino said. He said while 40 per cent of the buyers were those who had upgraded their car to Innova, the rest had considered buying another similar car but had later bought Innova.

Innova has five variants and its price ranges from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9 lakh. Innova has within a few months of its launch sold over 13,000 units. It now has 25,000 fresh orders. Mr Ino said the waiting period for Innova has been brought down to one month from five months. He, however, ruled out any price cuts to prop up the sales of the lower end models of Innova.
