Gold rules firm

GOLD ruled firm, while silver moved down marginally on the local bullion market on Monday, amidst limited off-take.

Pure gold .999-fineness closed steady at Rs 6,100 per 10 g. The standard mint closed higher at Rs 6,070 per 10 g, up by Rs 5. Silver .999 fineness prices ended lower by Rs 15 at Rs 10,840 a kg over the previous close on some offerings.

CHENNAI: Bar silver Rs 10,900 a kg; retail silver Rs 11.65 a g; standard gold Rs 6,115 per 10 g; and 22-carat ornament gold Rs 566.
