Announcements Nagarjuna Fert ropes in PwC for business re-engineering C.R. Sukumar
Hyderabad , June 7 IN a major business process reengineering programme spread over 26 weeks, Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd (NFCL) has roped in the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as the consulting partner. "The objective of this project, divided into three modules, is to enhance the quality, speed, reliability, flexibility and cost effectiveness of our business processes," a senior NFCL official told Business Line. The first module of the project titled `Nhance' is aimed at development of a strategic planning framework while the second one at business process reengineering and the third at performance orientation. NFCL and PwC have formed a core team, which would be directly responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of the tasks listed under the project. According to the NFCL Chairman, Mr K.S. Raju, `change' has emerged as the only constant factor in today's business environment. The pace of change has become frantic and volatile. The fertiliser sector, which used to be a closely guarded and controlled by the Government, is now, moving towards progressive de-regulation. With the level of imports going up, global competition is now a reality. Having redefined its vision and strategy, NFCL would now address the people policies and practices and also the processes. According to Mr Raju, all the people related policies and practices have been revisited and necessary changes were being carried out. These changes would reflect contemporary best practices.
