Standards & Benchmarks Orchid Chem receives GLP certification Our Bureau
Chennai , June 6 ORCHID Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd has said that its research and development centre in Chennai has received Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) certification. This certification covers areas such as physical-chemical testing, safety pharmacology and pharmacokinetic studies, toxicity studies, mutagenicity studies and analytical and clinical chemistry testing, according to a company press release. Issued by the National GLP Monitory Monitoring Authority, the certification will provide a thrust to Orchid's on-going new drug discovery research programmes, according to the release. It said that the certification was granted after a thorough inspection of the facilities by the authorities and after a review by the technical committee. The certification was in accordance with Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development principles for GLP certification with which India's National GLP Compliance Monitoring Authority of the Department of Science and Technology was aligned with.
