MANGALORE: The Mangalore Town Official Language Implementation Committee has presented the `award for excellence in official language implementation' to New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT).

An NMPT release said here on Monday that the committee considered the performance of the port in the implementation of Hindi as official language in the day-to-day affairs during 2004-05.

The Chairman and Managing Director of Corporation Bank, Mr V.K. Chopra, who is also the chairman of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee, presented the award to NMPT recently, the release added.
