Kanoria Chem Q4 net profit up 62 pc

KANORIA Chemicals & Industries Ltd (KICL) has posted a net profit of Rs 8.4 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2005, up 62 per cent compared to Rs 5.2 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Net sales during the quarter improved by 21.5 per cent from Rs 63.65 crore to Rs 77.33 crore.

For 2004-05, the company's net profit stood at Rs 22.7 crore recording an improvement of 14.4 per cent compared to Rs 19.8 crore net profit in 2003-04. Net sales during the full year increased by 13.6 per cent to Rs 287.43 crore from Rs 252.92 crore in the previous year.

Earnings per share (EPS) on basic and diluted earnings for the fiscal stood at Rs 13.10 as against Rs 11.07 last year, according to a company release.

The company has announced a dividend of 30 per cent, an increase of five per cent over last year's 25 per cent on equity shares and 13.5 per cent on cumulative redeemable preference shares for the year 2004-05.
