Volkswagen team to meet AP CM

HYDERABAD: A delegation from the German automotive major Volkswagen AG, on a tour of Andhra Pradesh, is set to hold discussions with the State Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajshekhara Reddy, on Friday.

The team headed by the project leader of Volkswagen India project, Dr Helmut Schuster, along with senior members earlier toured the port city of Visakhapatnam and the proposed plant site offered by the State Government for the carmakers greenfield plant. The team also met with a host of auto vendors today.

Though the State Government has repeatedly announced that the management of the company had indicated that they would consider the AP for their new car plant, which is also expected to serve as a regional hub, the company management is yet confirm its decision.
