Policy Industry & Economy - Lottery New lottery agencies to be allowed Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Department of Lotteries has decided to allow more agencies in all districts to provide self-employment opportunities. Those interested can apply to the department at the earliest and avail themselves of the benefits on offer. Commission is payable in the range of 25 per cent to 28.50 per cent of total sales for the weekly Periyar, Chaithanya and Saubhagya series. The application for the allotment of agency should be submitted along with the fees of Rs 400 to the District Lottery Officer. The licence issued should be renewed every year on payment of fees of Rs 100. The agent can vend the tickets through the sub-agents, retailers and salesmen appointed for the purpose.
