Automobile Components Shanthi Gears Q4 income up, to pay 50% dividend Our Bureau
Coimbatore , May 14 SHANTHI Gears Ltd has declared 50 per cent dividend for shareholders for 2004-05 on an enlarged equity. In the previous year, the company paid 75 per cent dividend when its equity stood at Rs 3.9 crore. The increase in the company's equity share was on account of issue of bonus shares. As on March 31, 2005, its share capital remained at Rs 7.8 crore. The company showed a 19 per cent growth in net income for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2005. Net sales stood at Rs 33.09 crore compared to Rs 27.81 crore for the three-month period ended March 31, 2004. But its net profit declined by 14 per cent to Rs 4.17 crore as against the previous year's Rs 4.86 crore. For the full fiscal, the company achieved a net income of Rs 121.24 crore, a rise of 41 per cent over the previous year's net sales of Rs 85.84 crore. Its profit before tax stood at Rs 30.66 crore (Rs 19 crore). Net profit for the fiscal rose to Rs 19.12 crore, up by 45 per cent from Rs 13.23 crore.
