Announcements Marketing - Retailing Aerens group plans to set up speciality malls Our Bureau
Thiruvananthapuram , May 14 THE New Delhi-based Aerens group plans to set up speciality shopping malls across the country. Also on the cards is a foray into serviced apartments, said Mr G. S. Pillai, Director, Aerens Gouldsouk International. Speaking at a press conference here, he said the company plans to set up malls that sell building materials and associated products. It is also looking at building speciality malls that sell health-related products and services, sports goods and automobiles. With its Gold Souk at Gurgaon, the company has begun its entry into the speciality malls segment. The Gold Souk, which opened in October last year, sells gold, jewellery and other high-value lifestyle products. The company had recently announced that it would set up a Gold Souk and Wedding Souk in Kochi and a similar shopping mall in Ludhiana. The Wedding Souk will offer products and services for weddings, festivals and other special occasions, said Mr V. Suresh, Chief Executive Officer, Aerens Goldsouk International. Over the next five years, the company plans similar `gold and wedding' malls in Bangalore, Chennai, Jaipur, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Besides the Gold Souk and Wedding Souk in Kochi, the company is also examining the possibility of other projects in Kerala, he said. It is looking at launching housing projects in the State.
