SAP customer base growing

Our Bureau

BANGALORE: SAP India said on Thursday that it signed up 30 new customers in the small and medium business (SMB) space the January-March 2005 quarter, taking its overall SMB customer base to over 300.

The company expects its SMB business to grow by 2.5-3 times of the Indian market going forward, said a SAP press release. In 2004, about 75 SMBs opted for SAP solutions thus averaging a new customer win every five days.

"There is a growing demand for cost-effective, highly scalable and easily maintainable solutions among Indian businesses," said Mr Pranay Mittal, Director, SMB Operations, SAP Asia Pacific.
