The forum, led by the former TDP MLA, Mr T.G. Venkatesh, had organised a roundtable meeting here on Sunday to discuss the future of Rayalaseema in the event of State's bifurcation. He said the region should be compensated for the losses it suffered because of the shifting of the State capital from Kurnool to Hyderabad decades ago. Mr Venkatesh said the backward region should be granted industrial, information technology and biotechnology parks. In a resolution adopted at the meeting, the forum asked the Government to name a Rayalaseema town as the second capital of the State. The forum argued that Nellore and Prakasam districts, situated in the Pennar basin, should form part of Rayalaseema.
