`Charter Mark' for institutions in Kerala
Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government has decided to confer `Charter Mark' on 42 institutions in the public domain in recognition of achievements in service delivery matching the raised levels of expectations of citizens.
An official said here that the service delivery scheme is part of the Asian Development Bank-assisted Modernising Government Programme (MGP). The 42 institutions were picked from the 770 that volunteered to be included under the programme. At least 2585 institutions are considered eligible for purposes of being brought under coverage of the programme.
The `Charter Mark' intends to raise the levels of delivery of services with respect to each individual institution identified at a meeting of all parties involved, including immediate beneficiaries.
It is conferred on the institution achieving the top of the three graded levels delineated in terms of growing public acceptance. Any institution reaching the coveted `third level' will be declared as a model institution.
