BHEL clocks 34 pc higher profit

NEW DELHI: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has reported a 34.33 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 584.63 crore during the fourth quarter of 2004-05, against a net of Rs 435.19 crore in the same quarter of previous fiscal. Income from operations was up 25 per cent at Rs 4,967.08 crore (Rs 3,968.56 crore).

For the full year, it has registered a 52.51 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 1,003.75 crore (Rs 658.15 crore). Income from operations was up 22 per cent at Rs 10,686.07 crore. The company's earning per share improved to Rs 23.89 (Rs 17.78) during the fourth quarter.
