SOUTH Central Railway has announced the inauguration a host of passenger amenities in Nellore region.

These include remodelled railway stations of Venkatachalam and Vedayapalem in Nellore and the remodelled Nellore railway station (West side) and the newly built Nellore railway station (East side), according to an SCR press release here on Sunday.

Stating that an amount of Rs 2.3 crore was spent on passenger amenities at the Nellore region, the SCR said plans were on for further facilities at a cost of Rs 1.19 crore.

These include provision of sub-way connecting the new platform, expansion of passenger reservation complex, platform shelters etc at Nellore railway station.
