If you see 20 per cent gain, take away your profits!
Khan spent the weekend tabulating company results on his spreadsheet, even as Jogin watched all the new movie releases, and Sridevi visited her relatives to network.
But Dakshinamoorthy was alert enough to invite the gang for the weekly market chat. Hang on!
Dax: Hi, there! Overall mood is bearish, though some feel otherwise.
Kay: Basic rule now is caution, rather than buy on every dip or rise!
Sri : Chart patterns point to a continuation of recovery witnessed towards the end of last week and moderate upside potential in the near term.
Jog: Nifty futures heavily discounted to the spot Nifty. Spot Nifty 1994?
Kay: Auto looks good, especially Tata Motors, Maruti and Hero Honda.
Jog: Auto-addition numbers in April will be closely watched for likely growth trends in FY 06 after two fiscals of robust growth. Colgate! :-(
Dax: Short-term traders may buy Pantaloon Retail this week. Because Shoppers' Stop IPO hitting the market! See the upbeat mood! ;-)
Sri : Trent is also a retail stock, but speculation is more in Pantaloon.
Kay: ITC gone below Rs 1,400. Poised for upside before results. Aztec...
Dax: Yeah, rising over the past few sessions. 130% rise in revenue! :-|
Sri : Ador Welding at Rs 108; 52-week high! At Rs 25-30 not long ago.
Jog: In smaller cap, see South East Asia Petrochem. For risk-lovers! JMO
Kay: Last week the US removed anti-dumping duty on PET resins and PTA. This company is a major exporter of these products. Isliye!
Sri : Royal Airways attractive for short-term players. Next month, its low-cost service will start! Normal monsoon forecast may help?
Jog: Bharat Forge could get a kicker from greater leeway for FIIs to buy the stock. RBI permission is through for this stock as well as Divi's.
Kay: The latter may not benefit, as sentiment has been weak for it and several mid-cap pharma plays. Watch Siemens. Added Rs 175!
Dax: In the last two days and if momentum keeps ticking Rs 2000-mark beckons! If numbers are more impressive than expected. Likely. :-)
Jog: Macmillan may show a firm undertone. Because of more outsourcing and publishing out of India. Coke didn't disclose India liabilities? :-|
Dax: More upside possible in Berger. If buyback (April 29) is a tender-route offer, gains may be held. CESC just toying with thermal ideas!
Kay: Street talk suggests action in low-priced stocks such as Lloyds Steel, Prakash Industries and S.Kumars. OBC could slacken once the equity offer goes through. Wipro may go higher? Manali Petro?
Sri : Watch Kirloskar Bros; raced past Rs 1100. Stock-split possibility!
Jog: Sister concern Kirloskar Oil Engines' completes the act in this regard. Praj's earnings numbers are likely to provide support for a firm trend in this buoyant stock. Can we bet on EPFO's SPV? Hanil Era? :-|
Kay: Optical-fibre majors, Sterlite Optical and Aksh, could gain as markets expect better numbers. Textiles may see gains. What's luck? Koi?
Jog: "Preparation meeting opportunity," said Oprah Winfrey.
Dax: "Success is simply a matter of luck. Ask any failure," Earl Wilson! :-)
