THE Small Savings Department has achieved net collection of Rs 4,811.59 crore during the year 2004-05 against a target of Rs 4,000 crore in the previous year.
This was Rs 1,363 crore more than last year's Rs 3,448.74 crore on a target of Rs 3,000 crore.
Addressing a meeting organised to celebrate `Women's Savings Day' here on Friday, Mr D. Kailasa Prasad, Commissioner of Small Savings, said all but two districts - Nellore and East Godavari, had achieved the targets.
"In some cases, they even surpassed the targets," he said.
While Nellore could cross last year's performance, East Godavari failed to repeat even its last year's figures.
He later felicitated three women savings agents for recording highest collections under Mahila Pradhan Kshetriya Bachat Yojana Agency scheme.
Ms P. Rama Devi of Warangal could collect Rs 1.63 crore, while Ms K. Indravathamma (Mahaboobnagar) recorded Rs 1.18 crore and Ms P. Anjali Setti (Rangareddy) Rs 1.15 crore.
Over all, Mr S. Ravikumar of (Hyderabad) mobilised a record Rs 2.10 crore on a target of Rs 1.50 crore and Mr E. Chiranjeevi (also from Hyderabad) Rs 1.94 crore.
