Kalam to open Global meet on project management next week

PROJECT Management Institute (PMI) Pearl City Chapter (PMIPCC) is organising here an international conference on project management from April 15-17, at the Indian School of Business (ISB).
The President, Mr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, will inaugurate the conference and deliver the keynote address. Titled `Gyan Lahari' or `Knowledge Waves' to "Unleash the Power of Project Management'', it aims to shape the academia, business, society and nation.
The effort is to bring practitioners, leaders, academicians, entrepreneurs, students and industrialists together in one place to create greater awareness about project management in the region, according to a press release from the PMIPCC.
The conference will cover the application of project management in information technology, academia, infrastructure development, global delivery, corporate performance, Government and society. Yearly millions of dollars are getting wasted due to major failures in projects.
PMIPCC has conducted Project Management Competency Development workshops in 12 cities in India covering 85 engineering and management institutes and 1,570 students and staff. The objective of this initiative is to create awareness among the student community on the core concepts of PMI.

Rollins, Chief Project Strategist for the ALLPMO Network, USA, and Mr Cory Eaves, Chief Technology Officer, SSA Global, USA.
PMI, headquartered in the US, has a 1,50,000-strong membership and is spread across more than 60 countries with more than 200 chapters.
