Dharwad bank posts 24 pc growth

MANGALORE: Malaprabha Grameena Bank, Dharwad - a regional rural bank sponsored by Syndicate Bank - touched a total business of Rs 1,917 crore during 2004-05.

According to a press release from the bank on Monday, the bank registered a growth of 24 per cent during 2004-05 compared to the previous financial year. The bank has 243 branches in four districts.

The total deposits of the bank during 2004-05 stood at Rs 1,002.54 crore and the total advances at Rs 914.80 crore.

The CD ratio of the bank is 91.25 per cent, and NPAs form 5.22 per cent of the total advances. Quoting the Chairman of the bank, Mr B.S. Surendra, the release said the bank is expecting to record a good profit. He said these were pre-audited figures and the balance sheet is yet to be finalised.
