Hyundai sales up 23 pc in March

HYUNDAI Motor India sold 23,669 units in March 2005, a 23.2 per cent growth over the same month last year.

In the domestic market, its sales grew 18.3 per cent to reach 16,315 units — 11,833 of Santro, 1,601 of Getz, 2,525 of Accent, 220 of Elantra, 86 of Sonata and 50 of Terracan — while exports jumped 36 per cent to 7,354 units in March.

In the financial year ended March 2005, the company sold 2,24,243 cars, a 30 per cent growth over the previous year. Exports grew 95 per cent during the year with total exports of 82,093 cars while domestic sales grew 9.5 per cent to reach 1,42,150 units, according to a company press release.
