New Delhi , March 30

INDIAN Airlines has introduced apex fares for the Chennai-Port Blair route and the Kolkata-Port Blair route for increasing the tourist traffic at the Andaman Islands in the coming summer. The move is aimed at giving a fillip to the falling tourist traffic at the Andamans due to last year's tsunami.

According to the new fares announced, Chennai-Port Blair fare, if booked in advance of seven days, 21 days and 28 days, would be Rs 6,560, Rs 5,275 and Rs 4,355, respectively.

The fares applicable for the Kolkata-Port Blair route, if booked in advance of seven days, 21 days and 28 days would be Rs 7,100, 5,705 and Rs 4,710, respectively. The fares would be applicable from April 10.
