Tuticorin Port Trust to take up road improvement works

Our Correspondent

MADURAI: The Tuticorin Port Trust (TPT) will undertake road improvement works to the tune of Rs 17.75 crore to facilitate easy container movement within the port jurisdiction.

According to the TPT Chairman, Mr N.K. Raghupathy, the works are expected to be completed during the next fiscal. He further said TPT would undertake a review of its decision taken earlier to defer the creation of ship repairing facilities at the port that could attract 3000 vessels per annum to Tuticorin region. Further, a proposal on improving the data communication network is also under consideration, he added.
