According to the General Manager of Madurai Aavin, Dr A. Balasubramanian, the Commissioner of Milk Production and Dairy has approved the plan, drawn in co-ordination with the NDDB.

After the execution of the plan, the procurement of milk will get increased to 3 lakh litres from 1.5 lakh litres per day (LPD) by 2010.

And the capacity would be expanded from 50, 000 LPD to 80, 000 LPD.

The union contribution is Rs 1.74 crore. The NDDB contribution is Rs 2.57 crore towards strengthening the infrastructure and Rs 5 lakh as grant for manpower development.
