Airlines Thai Air plans to connect more Indian cities Our Bureau

New Delhi , March 17 THAI Airways International, the national carrier of Thailand, is keen to expand its reach in India and also plans to offer more seats on the daily flight that it operates to-and-from Delhi to Bangkok. "We would love to have Hyderabad as the next point in India. Besides, we would also like to operate to Amritsar and Ahmedabad. "However, we have to make sure that there is enough traffic to be carried not only to these cities but also from there onwards to Thailand," the airlines General Manager, India and Bhutan, Mr Sudhagun Divaveja, said. The airline, however, has not yet set any time-frame for that. "Traditionally, we do not operate a daily service to any new destination. We start service to a new destination by flying three or four times a week. However, when the demand goes up we offer a daily flight to the destination," Mr Divaveja said. Meanwhile, to offer more seats from Delhi, the airline plans to operate all the seven flights to Delhi with a Boeing 777 aircraft which will offer an additional 75 seats per flight. "We are also hoping to start operating a Boeing 747 aircraft on the Delhi route. If that happens we will offer seats in three classes including first class to the passengers," he said. The airline today also announced the launch of Royal Orchid Holidays packages in India. The package offers brief and extended tour itineraries in different parts of the world including the Asia Pacific, the US and Europe.
