Best exporter award for BEL, Bal Pharma

BHARAT Earth Movers Ltd and Bal Pharma Ltd are among the companies that have received the Best Exporter award of the Karnataka Government.

The BEML CMD, Mr V.R.S. Natarajan, received the State-level awards for the years 2000-01, 2001-02, 2002-03 and 2003-04 in the non-SSI category for increasing exports from Mysore and KGF plants. These exports account for Rs 52.5 crore.

Bal Pharma's award for the year 2002-03 comes to it for the second time. Its Managing Director, Mr Shailesh D. Siroya, said the company had worked aggressively over the last couple of years to make a mark in 32 countries, and with a focus on the US and European markets. Mr Subramanyam, Vice-President-International Marketing, said Bal Pharma planned to become a major player in the overseas business by 2008.

The Chief Minister, Mr Dharam Singh, presented the awards instituted by the Department of Industry & Commerce and VITC.
