A litmus test

Students appearing for SSLC exams prepare to enter the examination hall at the Government Girls High School in Ernakulam on Wednesday. For the first time in the country, the exams will be based on the grading system. This year, 5,85,727 students are appearing for the SSLC exams, with 4,72,809 in the new scheme and 1,12,918 in the old scheme.
