NMCE coffee futures up

NATIONAL Multi-Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (NMCE) has recorded a volume of Rs 93.95 crore in coffee (arabica and robusta) forward contracts since its launch on February 22.

NMCE launched coffee futures through online trading platform at Bangalore.

Robusta May contract clocked a record volume of 3,984 tonnes of Rs 23.91 crore on March 7 and it touched an upper circuit at Rs 6,111 a quintal. Coffee robusta has got a share of Rs 92 crore, according to a NMCE release.

On the two consecutive days, the bull run continued in robusta May contracts.

On Wednesday, all the three contracts of robusta May, July and September hit the upper circuit at Rs 7,226, Rs 7,431 and Rs 7,576 a quintal respectively within 15 minutes of opening.
